Description
Large, broad, weeping, fast growing deciduous tree (H 15-25 m, W 15-20 m). Crown broadly dome-shaped, picturesque. Branches distinctly long, hanging. Bark on young shoots bright yellow to yellow-brown, later grey, roughly fissured. Leaves lanceolate (8-12 cm), glossy, at first bright green-yellow, later green, autumn colour yellow-green. Flowers in clusters, catkins (4-6 cm), grey to yellow; only female flowers. Flowering period: April. Seeds and fruits absent.Very healthy, adaptable species, normally withstands urban conditions, wind, cold and heat and long-lasting flooding. The most often planted weeping-willow variety in our country. A hybrid between Salix alba 'Vitellina' and Salix babylonica 'Babylon'.
