Description
Large tree of upright growth (20-25 m). Crown broadly ovate to rounded (up to 15 m), wide-spreading, open. Branches thorny (thorns up to 8 cm long). Bark on young branches red-brown, later grey-brown, flaky, decorative. Leaves pinnately compound (20-35 cm), leaflets narrowly ovate (3 cm), light green, autumn colour gold-yellow, early coloring. Flowers unremarkable. Flowering period: May-July. Fruits narrow, flat pods (25-40x3 cm), hard, glossy dark brown. Ripening time: September-October, persist on the branches for a long time. The tree is tolerant of urban conditions, heat and drought, adaptable to different soil conditions.
