Description
Medium-sized, upright evergreen tree, conifer (H 10-15 m, W 5-7 m). Bark grey-brown, flaky. Crown broadly conical to egg-shaped, regular. Branches wide open to horizontal. Needles (7-10 cm) straight, stiff, pointed, in fives, dark green to grey-green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (8-15 cm), elongate, light brown, resinous. Requires always moderately moist and well-drained soils. Easily withstands urban conditions, undemanding species, grows well also in poor.
