Description
Dwarf, upright, slow growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 1,5-2,5 m, W 0,6-1 m). Crown conical to egg-shaped, dense. Branches open to horizontal, short. Buds egg-shaped, shortly pointed, strongly resinous. Needles (4-7 cm) pointed, in pairs, longitudinaly spiraly twisted, dark green, in autumn and winter distinctly light orange-yellow. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (3-7 cm), narrowly conical, mostly curved, dark brown, scales stiff, thick, with a sharp tip. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils, withstands cold and wind.
