Description
Small, upright deciduous conifer, tree (H 5-8 m, W 2-3 m) with a picturesque, irregular crown. Branches upright to open, corkscrew-like twisted. Needles (2-3 cm) in bundles, thin, light green, autumn colour distinctly bright yellow to orange yellow. Flowers not remarkable, male (yellow) and female (pink-red) flowers separate. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (3-4 cm), egg-shaped, dark brown, scales bent outward. Attracts birds.
