Description
Small, upright, broad, deciduous ornamental tree (H 5-7 m, W 6-7 m). Crown broadly ovate to rounded. Branches upright to open. Leaves lanceolate (7-12 cm), at first brown-red, later dark violet-red, autumn colour bright orange-red to violet-red. Flowers double (3 cm), red-pink to pink. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits absent. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Requires light, deep, always moderately moist, but well-drained soils. This variety is a descendent of Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan'.
