Description
Large, upright, moderately growing deciduous tree (H 14-16 m, W 4-5 m). Crown at first columnar, later more broad, pyramidal. Bark on young shoots olive green, later grey. Branches upright to open. Leaves simple, ovate (6-9 cm), with a serrate margin, at first light coppery red, later dark green. Flowers not remarkable, light green. Flowering period: March-April. Fruits flattened, round (1,5 cm), brown. Requires always moderately moist, deep, fertile, loose soils, also on lime. Easily withstands urban conditions and wind, also strong coastal wind.
