Description
Small, weeping, broad, deciduous tree (H 5-8 m, W 7-10 m). Crown broadly dome-shaped. Bark on young branches smooth, silver-grey, later dark grey. Branches widely spreading, distinctly hanging, densely arranged. Leaves simple, ovate (8-16 cm), with a finely serrate margin, rough, dark green. Flowers not remarkable, light green. Flowering period: March-April. Fruits flattened, round (1,5 cm), brown. Requires always moderately moist, deep, fertile, loose soils, also on lime. Easily withstands urban conditions and wind. This variety is a descendent of Ulmus × hollandica var. vegeta.
