Description
Medium-sized, upright, narrow, deciduous ornamental tree (H 8-12 m, W 3-4 m). Bark grey-brown, lightly fissured. Crown regular, conical to narrowly ovoid. Branches thorny. Leaves broadly ovate (4-10 cm), smooth, glossy, dark green, autumn colour bright yellow to red. Flowers numerous, in umbels, simple, cup-shaped (2,5 cm), white. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits rare or absent. Attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Requires limy soils, otherwise easy to grow species, withstands also urban conditoins.
