Description
Small, upright, slow growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 2,5-3 m, W 0,7-1 m). Bark grey, roughly flaky. Crown broadly conical to egg-shaped, dense. Branches upright to slightly open, short. Needles (7-10 cm) pointed, in pairs, stiff, prominent, bright dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (5-8 cm), egg-shaped, glossy, at first dark grey-blue, ripe dark grey-brown. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils. Very undemanding pine species, very tolerant to drought, cold, heat, wind and urban conditoins.
