Description
Small, weeping, broad, slow growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 3-6 m, depands as well on grafting height and support, W 4-7 m). Crown irregular, picturesque, broadly dome-shaped. Branches widely spreading, hanging. Bark grey, roughly flaky. Needles short (1,8-2,5 cm), in dense bundles of 20 or more, thin, ostro pointed, smooth, light grey-blue, grey-green to dark blue-green. Male and female flowers separate, male flowers in large catkins, yellow-brown. Flowering period: September-October. Cones dark green to brown, broad-oval, with wide, thin scales, fall apart while still on the tree. A tough, long-lived tree, normally withstands urban conditions, cold, heat and drought.
