Description
Low, broad, bushy, slow growing deciduous shrub (H up to 1,2 m, W 1,5-2 m). Branches green, later light brown, thin, upright to partly hanging. Leaves lanceolate to narowly lanceolate or 3-lobed (1-2 cm), dark green. Flowers pea-like (up to 2,5 cm), delicate light yellow, part of flower bright orange red. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits brown to black flat pods (2-3 cm). Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs well-drained soils, prefers to grow in poor, less fertile soils. Useful as a ground-covering shrub for planting large banks.
