Description
Low, tuft-forming, bushy deciduous shrub (H up to 1,2 m, W up to 1,2 m). Branches green, later light brown, thin, upright to partly hanging. Leaves lanceolate to narowly lanceolate (2 cm), grey-green. Flowers pea-like (up to 2,5 cm), snow white. Flowering period: April-May. Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs well-drained soils, prefers to grow in poor, less fertile soils. Useful as a ground-covering shrub for planting large banks. Cytisus × praecox is a cross C. multiflorus x C. purgans.
