Description
Medium-sized, slow growing evergreen shrub (H 2-3 m, W 2,5-3 m, eventually more). Crown rounded to dome-shaped, dense. Leaves lanceolate (7-12 cm), leathery, wrinkled, glossy, dark green, underneath dense pale green hairy. Flowers in dense, flat inflorescence, simple (1 cm), in buds light pink, open cream white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits rare, round to elongate (0,7 cm), fleshy, glossy, red to black. Ripening time: September-October. Attracts butterflies and bees. Undemanding shrub, grows well under trees, in half-shade, prefers moist soils. Easily withstands urban conditions and pruning. Viburnum 'Pragense' oz. V. × pragense is a cross between V. rhytidophyllum and V. utile.
