Description
Small tree, slow-growing (6-8 m), crown distinctly broad (6-8 m), rounded to flattened spherical, eventually irregular, sparsely branched, open. Bark on young branches red-brown, later grey-brown, flaky, decorative. Leaves pinnately compound (20-35 cm), leaflets narrowly ovate (2 cm), at first bright brown red, later coppery red to dark green, autumn colour bright yellow to orange yellow. Flowers unremarkable. Flowering period: May-July. Fruits narrow, flat pods (25-40x3 cm), hard, glossy dark brown. Ripening time: September-October, fruits persist on the branches for a long time. The tree is tolerant of urban conditions, heat and drought, adaptable to different soil conditions.
