Description
Small, upright, deciduous fruit-plant, shrub or semi-shrub (H 1,5-1,8 m, W 0,8-1,2 m). Branches upright to open, arching, thorny. Leaves palmate, 3-5-lobed, grey-green. Flowers simple (1 cm), white. Flowering period: June-September. Fruits distinctly elongate (3-3,5 cm), fleshy, medium firm, very juicy, bright red to dark red, tasty. Ripening time: July-September. Well resistant to diseases. Tayberry is a cross between blackberry and raspberry (Rubus fruticosus × Rubus idaeus), named after the Tay in Scotland. It combines some characteristics of both paternal species.
