Description
Small, upright, broad, moderately growing, often multi-stemmed, deciduous tree (H 7-10 m, W 6-8 m). Crown broad, fen-shaped, irregular. Bark on young shoots reddish, later light grey, smooth. Leaves simple, broadly ovate (5-10 cm), with a slightly and unevenly serrate margin; leaves dark green, lighter underneath, along the veins slightly hairy; autumn colour yellow, orange to dark red. Flowers in larger inflorescence, light yellow-white, ornamental. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits winged, in pairs (acute angle), light red to brown. Ripening time: September-October. Easily withstands cold, summer drought, grows well also in poor soils.
