Description
Small, broad, at first fast growing tree (H 4-5 m, W 4-5 m). Bark brown, smooth. Crown broad, umbrella-shaped, open, irregular, picturesque. Young shoots dark brown, dense softly hairy. Leaves pinnately compound (40-60 cm), leaflets narrow-lanceolate to linear (up to 12 cm), finely and deeply dissected, above bright green, underneath light blue-green; leaves autumn colour bright orange-red. Flowers yellow-green, in upright panicles, male and female flowers on separate plants, dioecious plant. Flowering period: June-July. Fruits produced on female plants only, fruit-clusters upright, cylindrical (10-15 cm), dense, velvety dark red. Ripening time: September-October. Easily withstands heat, drought and urban conditions, grows well also in poor, shallow soils.
