Small, densely branched deciduous perennial (H 30-50 cm, W 20-30 cm). Leaves mostly in dense, ground-level rosettes, narowly lanceolate (4-8 cm), with a serrate margin, slightly hairy, light to mid green. Flowers on upright stems in dense spikes (up to 50 cm), tiny, simple, dark blue. Flowering period: July-September. Adaptable to different soils, normally withstands occasional drought and heat.
