Description
Large, upright, broad, fast growing deciduous tree (H 20-25 m, W 10-15 m). Crown broadly conical to ovate, mostly with one leading stem. Bark on young shoots brown-red, later grey to grey-brown, distinctly flaky. Leaves broad-palmate (10-15 cm), deeply 5-lobed, leaflets large, with pointed tips; with a rough, sparsely serrate margin; leaves at first reddish, later mid to dark green, underneath silver-white; autumn colour yellow. Flowers yellow-green to red, ornamental. Flowering period: March-April. Fruits winged, in pairs (moderately acute angle, wings bent slightly inward), light green to slightly red. Ripening time: August-September. Easily withstands moist to wet soils, cold, drought and urban conditoins.
