Description
Medium-sized, upright, bushy, widely spreading deciduous shrub, shrub-rose, a hybrid rugosa (H 1,5-2,3 m, W 1-2 m). Branches upright to open, arching. Leaves broadly ovate (10-12 cm), pinnate, 5-lobed, ribbed, glossy, vivid green. Flowers solitary or in small clusters, bowl-shaped (10 cm), double, dark pink-violet to lilac-pink; intensely scented, flower scent. Flowering period: June-July, later reblooming. Fruits flattened round (2-3 cm), fleshy, red, ornamental. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Very healthy, well-growing, undemanding variety, resistant to diseases. An older Dutch variety (Schaum & Van Tol, 1905).
