Description
Small, compact, broad, slow growing evergreen shrub (H 1-1,3 m, W 1,4-1,5 m). Crown broad, flattened. Leaves broadly egg-shaped to ovate (4-6 cm), leathery, at first silver-grey, later grey-green to dark green, underneath red-brown to grey-brown felty. Flowers numerous, in dense terminal inflorescence, bell-shaped (3 cm), in buds light pink, open snow white. Flowering period: May-June. Grows best in deep, fertile, humus-rich, sufficiently drained, but always moist soils. Easily withstands moderatly sunny sites, grows well also in slightly acidic and neutral soils. Easily withstands winter cold.
