Description
Small, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub (H 1,2-1,5 m, W 1,5-2 m). Crown flattened, pillow-shaped, dense. Leaves broadly egg-shaped to ovate (5-9 cm), leathery, dark green, underneath white hairy. Flowers numerous, in dense terminal inflorescence, broadly bell-shaped (3-5 cm), in buds pink, open light pink to snowwhite. Flowering period: May. Requires deep, fertile, humus-rich, sufficiently drained, but always moist soils. Easily withstands moderatly sunny sites, grows well also in slightly acidic and neutral soils. Easily withstands winter cold.
