Description
Medium-sized, bushy, clump-forming deciduous perennial (H 60-80 cm, W up to 80 cm). Stems woody at the base. Leaves with long petioles, upright to arching, pinnately compound (25-50 cm), glossy, at first dark red to pink-red, later dark green. Flowers simple (up to 15 cm), cup-shaped, at first orange, later apricot-orange, light pink, light yellow to white; in center dark wine red spots; sweet scented. Flowering period: May-June. Undemanding, long-lived perennial, good for cutting. Itoh peonies are hybrids between tree peonies and herbaceous peonies.
