Description
Medium-sized, bushy, clump-forming deciduous perennial (H 70-90 cm, W up to 70 cm). Stems woody at the base. Leaves with long petioles, upright to arching, pinnately compound (25-50 cm), glossy, at first dark red to pink-red, later dark green, in autumn red to yellow, vividly coloured. Flowers simple (up to 17 cm), cup-shaped, orange-pink, salmon pink, delicately scented. Flowering period: May-June. Undemanding, long-lived perennial, good for cutting. Itoh peonies are hybrids between tree peonies and herbaceous peonies.
