Description
Large, upright, broad, deciduous ornamental fruit-tree (H 20-30 m, W 15-18 m). Crown broadly ovate to rounded. Bark longitudinally fissured. Leaves pinnate (20-30 cm), with 11-17 elongate lanceolate leaflets, green, autumn colour yellow. Male and female flowers separate, on the same plant, not remarkable, green. Flowering period: April. Fruits elongate, ovate nutlets (4-6 cm), with a thick wall, edible raw or processed. Ripening time: October-November. Undemanding, tough, long-lived tree. Requires deep, moderately moist, sufficiently drained, fertile humus-rich soils.
