Description
Small, upright, deciduous fruit-tree (H 5-8 m, W 3-4 m), of medium vigour. Leaves egg-shaped to ovate (5-8 cm), smooth, glossy, dark green, lighter beneath. Flowers simple, cup-shaped (2-3 cm), white. Flowering period: April-May, self-fertile. Fruits small, elongate egg-shaped, green-brown to yellow-brown; flesh white, firm, slightly sweet. Very good for baking, cooking and making jams. High and regular yield. Ripening time: September-October. Storage: October-January. Attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Requires fertile, moderately moist, well-drained soils, in warm sites. Easily withstands winter cold, drought and urban conditoins. A Dutch variety.
