Description
Small, clump-forming, deciduous perennial (H 15-25 cm, W 20 cm). Leaves mostly in a ground-level rosette, palmate (10-15 cm), finely serrate, leaflets narrow, linear, light green, with soft, light grey hairs. Flowers with long petioles, bell-shaped (5 cm), softly hairy, dark red, with numerous, bright yellow anthers. Flowering period: March-May. Fruits tiny hard nutlets (0,1 cm) with thin, long (3-4 cm) silky tail, with dense grey hairs, in clusters, ornamental. Ripening time: May-June. Requires partly sandy, dry, limy soils in an open, sunny site.
