Description
Small, upright deciduous tree (6-8 m), or large bushy shrub, crown broadly conical, broad (up to 5 m). Young shoots green, hairy, later olive-green to brown-red. Leaves broadly ovate (6-12 cm x 3-7 cm), green, autumn colour yellow to orange red. Flowers tiny, in round inflorescence, green, surrounded by 6 large (up to 4x7 cm) bracts cream white to snow-white, eventually with pink tips. Very freely flowering. Flowering period: May-June. Fruit egg-shaped (1 cm), fleshy, light red. Ripening time: October. Needs higher air-moisture and protection from cold wind.
