Description
Large, upright, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 3-5 m, W 0,8-1,2 m). Crown dense, conical to columnar, eventually irregular. Branches short, densely branched. Needles densely arranged, scalelike, romboid to egg-shaped (0,3-0,7 cm), leathery, glossy, young needles bright yellow, later light green to mid green, in winter coppery red. Flowers and fruits not remarkable. Undemanding, long-lived plant. Needs a lot of warmth, prefers to grow in sheltered sites. Easily withstands urban conditions, heat and summer drought.
