Description
Small, upright, deciduous fruit-tree (H 5-6 m, W 3-4 m). Leaves egg-shaped to ovate (5-8 cm), smooth, glossy, dark green, lighter beneath. Flowers simple, cup-shaped (2-3 cm), white. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits round, yellow to orange-yellow; flesh yellow-white, very juicy, firm, sweet, with taste of pears. Very high and regular yield. Ripening time: August-September. To be used fresh. Attracts bees, butterflies and birds. Requires fertile, moderately moist, well-drained soils, in warm sites. Easily withstands winter cold, drought and urban conditoins.
