Description
Small, slow growing, narrow, deciduous tree (6-8 m, W 1-1,5 m). Crown narrowly columnar to conical. Branches upright. Bark dark brown, later grey-brown. Leaves broadly ovate (10-20 cm), pinnate, with 13-19 leaflets, dark green, slightly glossy, underneath bluish green and slightly hairy; autumn colour yellow. Flowers in clusters (up to 20 cm), simple, cup-shaped (1 cm), cream white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits in clusters, round (0,8-1 cm), fleshy, bright red. Suitable for cooking and canning. Ripening time: September-October. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
