Description
Small, widely spreading deciduous tree (H 4-6 m, W up to 5 m). Crown broad-round, dense, branches thorny. Leaves ovate (up to 5 cm), 3 to 5-lobed, dark green. Flowers numerous, in clusters (2 cm), bright pink. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits rare. Attracts butterflies and bees. The name Crataegus × maedia includes several hybrid varieties, results of crossing Crataegus monogyna × C. laevigata.
