Description
Small, upright deciduous tree (H 6-8 m, W 4-6 m). Crown broadly pyramidal, dense. Leaves large, ovate (10-20 cm), at first reddish, later dark green. Flowers simple, star-shaped (12-15 cm), light yellow. Flowering period: April. It grows well in deep, humus-rich, slightly acidic, well-drained and always moderately moist soils, in sunny and half shady sheltered sites. Variety's full name: Magnolia stellata x acuminata 'Gold Star'.
