Description
Small, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub, fruit-plant (H 20-30 cm, W 20-30 cm). Stems partially woody, upright to slightly spread. Leaves broadly ovate (1-1,5 cm), leathery, smooth, glossy, mid green, lighter beneath. Flowers in terminal inflorescence, pitcher-like (0,7 cm), white to light pink. Flowering period: May-August. Fruits globose (0,6-0,9 cm), fleshy, juicy, tartish, bright light red; good for fresh use or for cooking and making jams. Ripening time: August-October, outstandingly high yield. Grows well in acidic, humus-rich, light, always moderately moist soils, in sun or semi-shade.
