Description
Small, pillow-shaped, evergreen perennial (H 10-15 cm, W 25-35 cm). Stems partially woody at the base, upright to creeping. Leaves broadly lanceolate to ovate (0,5-1 cm), smooth, yellow to light yellow-green, scented. Flowers in terminal inflorescence, numerous, two-lipped (0,5 cm), pink to lilac, scented. Flowering period: June-August. Attracts butterflies and bees. A tough, undemanding ground-covering plant. Requires full sun, and sufficiently drained, light, partly sandy soils. Good also as a container-plant. Thymus × citriodorus is a cross between T. pulegioides and T. vulgaris.
