Description
Medium-sized, broad, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 2-3 m, W 2-3 m). Bark red-brown to orange-brown, ornamental. Crown broadly ovoid to rounded, dense, more broad at maturity in flattened. Branches widely spreading, short, densely branched. Buds egg-shaped, slightly resinous. Needles (4-6 cm) pointed, in pairs, thin, soft, light green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate egg-shaped, yellow brown. Requires dry, well-drained soils. Useful as a container-plant.
