Description
Small, upright, slow growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 6-8 m, W 4-7 m). Bark reddish-brown to grey, flaky to fissured. Crown broadly ovoid to flattened spherical, dense, more broad at maturity, irregular, picturesque. Branches widely spreading, short, densely branched. Buds egg-shaped, slightly resinous. Needles (8-10 cm) pointed, in pairs, thin, prominent, variegated, green with dvema wide, cross-wise yellow stripes. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate egg-shaped, yellow brown. Requires dry, well-drained soils.
