Description
Small, slow growing, dense, evergreen shrub (H 0,7-1,3 m, W up to 0,8 m). Branches upright to open, arching. Leaves egg-shaped (7-10 cm), smooth, glossy dark green. Flowers tiny, in panicles (up to 10 cm), white. Flowering period: July-September. Fruits egg-shaped (5-8 mm), smooth, glossy black. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Easily withstands pruning. Needs always moist soils and a sheltered position; not reliably hardy, best grown as a container-plant, often grafted to a standard.
