Description
Large, upright deciduous conifer, tree (H 25-30 m, W 10-15 m), distinctly single-stemmed, crown broadly conical. Bark dark grey-brown to dark red-brown, flaky. Branches horizontal, slighly arching navzgor. Needles (2-3,5 cm) in bundles of 40-50, thin, blue-green to dark green, autumn colour distinctly bright yellow. Flowers not remarkable, male (yellow) and female (pink-red) flowers separate. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (3-4 cm), egg-shaped, dark brown, scales bent outward. Attracts birds.
