Description
Large, bushy, slow growing deciduous shrub (H 4-6 m, W 5-7 m), eventually small, multi-stemmed tree. Growth broad, side branches wide spreading to horizontal, slightly hanging. Leaves broad-oval, wrinkled, dark green, underneath blue-green, early in autumn intensely coloured, bright red to pink-red. Flowers green, tiny, in round inflorescence, surrounded by 4 wide bracts (up to 8 cm), vivid red-pink, pink to raspberry red; long lasting bracts. Flowering period: May-June, very rich and long flowering variety. Fruit round (1,5-2 cm), fleshy, raspberry red, edible. Attracts birds.
