Description
Small, compact, broad, evergreen shrub, conifer (H 1-1,5 m, W 1,5-1,8 m). Bark grey, flaky. Crown at first rounded, more broad at maturity, dome-shaped, dense. Branches wide open to horizontal. Needles (7-12 cm), pointed, in pairs, stiff, thick, dark grey-green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: May. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate, brown. Easily withstands wind, cold and heat. Grows also on the coastline. A very good container-plant, suitable for a bonsai.
