Description
Small, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 1,2-1,5 m, W 1-1,5 m). Bark grey, flaky. Crown rounded, distinctly irregular, picturesque. Branches wide open to horizontal, bent. Needles (7-12 cm), pointed, in pairs, stiff, thick, dark grey-green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: May. Fruits cones (4-7 cm), elongate, brown. Easily withstands wind, cold and heat. Grows also on the coastline. A very good container-plant, suitable for a bonsai.
