Description
Large, wide deciduous shrub (H 3,5-4 m, W 3,5-4 m), crown open, wide-spreading. Leaves broadly egg-shaped (12-15 cm), slightly asymmetrical, softly hairy, grey-green to dark green, autumn colour bright yellow to light orange-yellow. Flowers numerous, with short petioles, pleasantly sweet to fruty scented, star-shaped (up to 3 cm), petals (4) narrow, ribbon-like, wrinkled and partly scrolled, light lemon yellow. Flowering period: December-March. Grows well in slightly acidic, always moist soils, in a sheltered position. Hamamelis × intermedia is a cross H. japonica × H. mollis.
