Description
Large, vigorously growing semi-evergreen climber (H 2-5 m, W 1-2 m). Young shoots blue-green, partly reddish, later light brown. Leaves broadly ovate to almost round (6-10 cm), smooth, dark green, underneath blue-green. Flowers numerous, in whorled inflorescence, tube-shaped (3-4,5 cm), bright red to light orange-red. Flowering period: June-October. Fruits globose to egg-shaped (5-10 mm), fleshy, red. Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs humus-rich, light and always moist soils. Izvor sorte: Lonicera hirsuta × L. sempervirens.
