Description
Medium-sized, upright deciduous shrub (H 2-3 m, W 2-3 m), wide-growing. Branches light brown. Leaves broadly ovate (6-12 cm), young leaves vivid red to dark red, in summer dark coppery red. Flowers: male hanging catkins remarkable, red, female flowers tiny, red; both on the same plant, monoecious. Flowering period: February-April, mostly selffertile; for better polination plant different varieties together. Fruit hazelnut, light brown, semi-large (up to 2 cm). Fruits tasty, good yield. Ripening time: September-October.
