Description
Large, upright, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 4-5 m, W 1,5-2 m). Crown broadly conical, dense. Needles densely arranged, scalelike, egg-shaped (0,1-0,5 cm), leathery, glossy, young needles yellow-green, in summer light to mid green with yellow hue; in autumn partly orange to red-orange, in winter bright light yellow to orange-yellow. Flowers and fruits not remarkable. Undemanding, long-lived plant. Grows best in deep, always moderately moist, well-drained soils, in a site with higher air-humidity. Easily withstands pruning, wind and urban conditoins.
