Description
Large, broad, bushy evergreen shrub (H 3-4 m, W 3-5 m). Branches upright to broadly open, dense, thorny. Leaves ovate to narrowly egg-shaped (4-6 cm), smooth, slightly glossy, dark green. Flowers in numerous, dense umbels, small, simple (0,5 cm), cream white, scented. Fruits very numerous, round (0,5-0,8 cm), fleshy, bright red to orange-red. Ripening time: September-October, fruits persist on branches through the winter. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. An undemanding species, withstands urban conditions, heat, drought, cold and pruning.
