Description
Large, bushy in upright deciduous shrub (3-4 m, broad 3-4 m), branches upright to partly hanging. Leaves round to broadly ovate (10-14 cm), soft, at first light red, later dark red to black red. Flowers: male hanging catkins remarkable, brown-red, female flowers tiny, red; both on the same plant, monoeious. Flowering period: March-April. Fruit hazelnut (up to 2 cm), red-brown, edible. Ripening time: September-October.
