Description
Small, low, widely spreading evergreen shrub (H 1-1,3 m, W 1,5-2 m). Crown flattened spherical to low dome-shaped. Leaves elongate ovate (8-15 cm), leathery, with tremi remarkable longitudinal veins, glossy, dark green. Flowers in dense, flat inflorescence (6-8 cm), simple (0,5 cm), white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruits ovate (0,5 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark metallic blue. Attracts butterflies and bees. Not reliably hardy in central-european continental climate; grows best in light, well-drained and always moderately moist soils, in a moderately sunny to semi-shady site, sheltered, needs some winter protection (mulch).
